Hillary Clinton was named the most admired woman in the world for the sixth year in a row in the USA Today/Gallup Poll's annual survey, with her husband taking second place in the men's category behind President Bush.
Gallup has conducted the survey, released Wednesday, in all but two years since 1948, and Clinton's presidential campaign was quick to tout that this is the 12th time in the poll's history the former first lady has won the top slot.
"Americans know Hillary has been fighting for children and families for 35 years," Clinton campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle said in a written statement. "They admire her commitment and strength to make change."
Among women, Clinton scored 18 percent in the survey, conducted from Dec. 14-16. Talk show host Oprah Winfrey followed close behind at 16 percent. Secretary of State came in third with 5 percent of respondents choosing her.

On the men's side, President Bush won with 10 percent, despite low approval ratings, followed by Bill Clinton at 8 percent. Bush's score was his lowest in the seven years he's been named most admired man. Historically, the sitting president has been named the most admired man in every poll since 1981.
Hillary Clinton's Democratic rival Barack Obama took fourth place, with 5 percent, following former Vice President Al Gore, with 6 percent.
The results were based on national telephone interviews with 1,011 adults. The margin of error was 3 percent.
