About the bill

A bill to reauthorize the Terrorism Insurance Program for six years. The federal program that provides insurance against the risk of terrorism expired at the end of 2014. The bill would increase the amount of losses from an act of terrorism necessary to trigger government payments and increase insurers’ copayments for losses, decreasing the government’s exposure and shifting more risk to the private sector.
