Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein's recount efforts in three swing states are "a waste of time," said a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee on Sunday.

During an interview John Catsimatidis' radio show "The Cats Roundtable," Ed Rendell pointed to Stein's lack of evidence that any voter fraud occurred in Wisconsin, Michigan or Pennsylvania, which is the reason why Stein claims she is pushing for recounts.

"Jill Stein has not cited in Wisconsin, Michigan or Pennsylvania any explicit, concrete evidence that there was fraud," said Rendell, who is also a former governor of Pennsylvania. "In fact, the Secretary of State of Pennsylvania [who once worked for Rendell] … says there's no evidence of any fraud. … The suits are a waste of time."

Rendell also commented on who he believes should lead the Democratic Party moving forward, after an election where the party failed to gain control of either chamber of Congress, and lost the White House.
