Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt is a big fan of Bill and Hillary Clinton. Emails published by WikiLeaks reveal that Schmidt reached out to Hillary Clinton’s top aides in 2014 about being a “head outside advisor” to her presidential campaign.
“I met with Eric Schmidt tonight,” current Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta wrote in April 2014. “Clearly wants to be head outside advisor, but didn’t seem like he wanted to push others out. Clearly wants to get going.”
Additional emails show that Schmidt continued his correspondence with Clinton World in early 2015, and was seeking a meeting with former President Bill Clinton to discuss “the business he proposes to do with the campaign.”
