It’s #TheDress all over again – campaign edition.
While the Democratic presidential candidates debated Wednesday night over immigration and other weighty issues, the Internet was abuzz over Bernie Sanders’ suit. Namely, was it brown, or blue, or black, or even “eggplant” colored?

Resolved: In the #DemDebate hall, Bernie Sanders' suit looks brown.— Philip Rucker (@PhilipRucker) March 10, 2016
The debate was a throwback to the social media war over #TheDress, which some saw as blue and black and others saw as white and gold.
Sanders’ rapid response director tried to settle the debate Wednesday, but ended up muddying it.
He initially tweeted:
the suit senator sanders is wearing tonight is blue.— mike casca (@cascamike) March 10, 2016
But then he corrected himself:
the suit senator sanders is wearing tonight is black*— mike casca (@cascamike) March 10, 2016
*corrects for wrong color.
He then entered a self-deprecating shame spiral:
