A new Fox News national poll says Trump's support has slipped a bit over the last six weeks, but that he has held onto his big lead over his closest rival, Sen. Ted Cruz.

Trump win 34 percent of Republican primary voters, down one point from early January and down five points from mid-December, according to the poll released Friday.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz remained comfortably in second place, holding on to Jan. 7's figure of 20 percent, though the Washington Examiner's presidential power rankings scored him first place and placed Trump behind him.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and neurosurgeon Ben Carson both dropped a couple points since the last poll's findings. Rubio dipped from 13 percent to 11 percent and Carson went from 10 percent to 8 percent.
