Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer responded Friday on “Special Report with Bret Baier” to a New York Times report that President Obama told journalists he was slow to respond to Americans’ anxiety after the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino because he “did not see enough cable television.”
“To me, he was being sarcastic,” said Krauthammer. “This is a way of dissing or sort of showing condescension.”
Krauthammer cited an interview with the president earlier in the year, in which Obama said the media overstates the level of alarm people should have about terrorism.
In his reference to cable television, Krauthammer said the president was reiterating that point, and showing his “usual professorial condescension.”
“This is Obama essentially saying, ‘Well, the reason people are upset about this is because it’s been hyped on television, and they are not as cool, intelligent and far seeing as I am,’” he said.
