A Super pAC supporting former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina released an ad comparing the 2016 hopeful to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher Thursday.
The 50-second web ad by CARLY For America, a super PAC backing the 2016 hopeful, dubs Fiorina "America's Iron Lady," a play on the former prime minister and conservative icon's nickname.
The ad kicks off by playing part of a speech by Thatcher, with words appearing on the screen reading "Thatcher was the original Iron Lady." The ad then tells viewers to "say hello to America's Iron Lady" while playing a statement from Fiorina during Tuesday's GOP debate in Las Vegas, NV.
"Our government has become incompetent, unresponsive, corrupt, and that incompetence, ineptitude, lack of accountability is now dangerous," Fiorina says. "Talking tough is not the same as being strong. And to wage war, we need a commander in chief who has made tough calls in tough times and stood up to be held accountable over and over."
