Recent filings with the Federal Election Commissionindicate the Republican National Committee (RNC) raised nearly doublethe Democratic National Committee (DNC) in terms offundraising in October.
The RNC took in approximately $8.7 million comparedto the DNC’s $4.5 million.
The report shows the DNC spent well over what it brought in lastmonth, blowing through $5.25 million. Democrats have atotal of $4,703,185 cash on hand but $6.9 million indebt.
In contrast, Republicans have around $20 million on hand, andjust $1.8 million in debt.
Republicans received a record $89 million andDemocrats received $51.2 million in contributions thisyear.
“The RNC is the only organization on eitherside of the aisle currently running a full-scale General Electionfield operation, and we’re able to do so thanksto the thousands of supporters who continue to give usa decisive advantage over the DemocratNational Committee in preparing to win,†RNC ChairmanReince Priebus said in statement.
