President Obama went on the attack against Republicans Tuesday from the Philippines, saying that they are "scared of widows and orphans coming into the United States of America."
In a joint press conference with Philippine president Benigno Aquino, Obama alluded to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Tx, calling out unfair questions by CNBC moderators and Gov. Chris Christie, R-NJ, saying that his state would not accept even young orphan refugees — because they would be lost without familiar adult supervision.
"At first they were too scared of the press being too tough on them in the debates. Now they are scared of three-year-old orphans. That doesn't seem so tough to me," Obama mocked.
The AP characterized this as the president's "harshest condemnation yet" of Republicans over their objections to settling thousands of Syrian refugees in America in the wake of the deadly Paris bombings last Friday.Read more on WashingtonExaminer.com
