strong>ORLANDO, Fla. — Republican presidential hopeful Marco Rubio promised America's men and women in uniform Friday that he would ensure their safety and their health, should he be elected president.
"Providing for our national defense means keeping our commitment to the men and women who have served us in uniform," the Florida senator told hundreds of GOP voters at the 2015 Sunshine Summit in his home state.
To Rubio, keeping that commitment means keeping two promises to American veterans.
"The first is, if we ever put you into hostility, we are never going to put you in a fair fight," he told a crowded ballroom. "You are going to have better equipment, better training and better information than any potential adversary."
