Ohio Gov. John Kasich hit back at Donald Trump's claim that fracking saved him in Ohio by pointing out that few of the jobs created in the Buckeye State were in the energy industry.

Trump, returning to a line that worked in the last debate, tried to dismiss Kasich by saying, "You were lucky to strike oil" during an exchange about illegal immigration during the fourth Republican presidential primary debate Tuesday. However, this time Kasich came prepared with stats.

"We have grown 347,000 jobs, our unemployment is half of what it is and our fracking and energy industry may have created 20,000 of those jobs," Kasich said.

"Ohio's diversifying. Those false little things, sir, don't count when it comes to the truth."
