A year before the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton would tie Ben Carson, according to a new poll.
Clinton leads businessman Donald Trump by eight points (50-42) former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush by four points (47-43) and only leads Florida Sen. Marco Rubio by three points (47-44). But when matched against Carson, the race becomes unclear with both candidates coming in at 47 percent of the vote each, according to the Wall Street Journal/NBC poll released on Tuesday.
Overall, Clinton does worse than GOP candidates among independent voters. Carson does best among independents, leading the former secretary of state 47-35, a likely reason for his solid performance in a hypothetical matchup.
