GOP: Obama energy policy means 'fewer jobs, less security'

Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, blasted the Obama's administration's energy polices Saturday, especially energy polices as they relate to her home state.

"Since taking office, the Obama administration has repeatedly denied Alaska's best opportunities to produce energy for our nation and the world," Murkowski said. "These decisions ignore the will of hard-working Alaskans, who overwhelmingly support new production."

Murkowski emphasized this in the GOP's weekly address, but it is not the first time the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee chairwoman has lambasted the administration's energy policies. Though considered a moderate Republican on some issues, Murkowski is a strident critic of the president on energy matters.

"These decisions mean fewer jobs, less security for our country, and more of our dollars going overseas. They threaten the safe operation of our Trans-Alaska Pipeline, a national security asset that is just one-third full," Murkowski said.
