Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has a lot riding on Wednesday's Republican presidential debate and appears to have taken aim at a single target in advance of taking the stage: Washington, D.C.

On the eve of a major Washington, D.C., fundraiser featuring former President George W. Bush on the governor's behalf, Jeb Bush released a new ad blaming Washington for America's economic stagnation. Former White House Chiefs of Staff Andy Card and Josh Bolten will also attend the event to help Jeb Bush regain his footing in the presidential race.

"Giving bureaucrats more power over the economy is only going to make things worse. Washington, D.C., is holding us back. That's the problem," Bush says in the ad. "The way we bring jobs back to America is to take power out of Washington and give it back to the American people."

While Bush bemoaned a group of people that he will count on to raise money for him on Thursday, the governor also took direct aim at Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Bush's ad features Clinton singling out Republicans as her enemies.
