President Barack Obama will welcome Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo to the White House on October 26.
It will be Widodo's first visit to the United States since being sworn in as president a year ago.
The White House says the leaders' topics for discussion will include cooperation on defense, trade, climate and energy, as well as new growth areas such as maritime cooperation.
Obama, who lived in Indonesia as a child, met with Widodo in Beijing shortly after the Indonesian leader took office.
At the time, Obama called Widodo's election an affirmation of Indonesia's transition to a thriving democracy.
Widodo last month announced a Cabinet shakeup amid increasing public dissatisfaction with the lagging performance of Indonesia's economy since he took office.
