Krauthammer on Obama’s ISIS strategy: ‘This is a president who cannot decide’

Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said Friday on “Special Report with Bret Baier” that the president’s declaration at a news conference that he has “no strategy” to deal with ISIS in Syria reflects the commander-in-chief’s indecision on the issue and his willingness to blame others for his lack of policy.

“This is a president who cannot decide, and on this, he obviously cannot decide,” Krauthammer said. “What does he do? Instinctively, he blames somebody else for the so-called misinterpretation of this thing about strategy, and his spokesman today said, ‘Well, he hasn’t received options from the Pentagon.’”

As for the response at the Defense Department, Krauthammer added, “You could see the Pentagon spokesman just at the edge of saying, ‘What the hell are you talking about?’ But he swallowed hard and he bowed and he saluted to the president.”

Krauthammer cited other instances of what he called President Obama’s inability to make a foreign policy decision, referring to his strategy on Afghanistan and his “red line” on the Assad regime.

“It’s the president…who has shown now for five years that he cannot decide but would like to blame others when he’s indecisive,” he said.
