President Obama will meet with House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, on Tuesday morning, the White House announced.
The two are scheduled to speak at 11:30 a.m. in the Oval Office.
The president and speaker will discuss a “broad set of topics,” according to Boehner's office.
The meeting comes as President Obama has sought to bypass Congress on a number of policy initiatives, vowing a “year of action” on fighting income inequality and boosting the middle class.
