Taking the stage in Dubuque, Romney thanked the senator for his support before honing in on his target.“Senator Grassley, have you hit any deer lately?” Romney deadpanned to laughter from the audience. “For those of you who watch his blog know that he bumped into a deer the other day and he said that unfortunately it didn’t make it - the deer didn’t make it.”Romney was referring to incident Monday in which Grassley tweeted after hitting a deer, tweeting: “Fred and I hit a deer on hiway 136 south of Dyersville. After I pulled fender rubbing on tire we continued to farm. Assume deer dead.”The message spread through the twitterverse within minutes, even generating a parody account “Grassley’s dead deer."The former Massachusetts governor -- and known jokester -- had one question left before he was done.“But was it delicious?” he followed, a smile spreading on his face.
