Texas Gov. Rick Perry will campaign for Newt Gingrich for the first time on Feb. 22. Perry spokesman Ray Sullivan told Fox News Perry will be at the CNN debate in Mesa, Ariz., next week on Gingrich's behalf.
Perry endorsed Gingrich shortly after dropping out of the presidential race. He has mentioned the endorsement in interviews, but did not mention it in either of the two speeches he has delivered since suspending his campaign, including his address to CPAC last week.
The Arizona Republican Party will co-host the Arizona debate ahead of the Arizona and Michigan primaries on Feb. 28.
Perry has not planned any events with Gingrich beyond the debate.
