Mary Anne Marsh, a former advisor to John Kerry, told Power Play Live a Ron Paul third party ticket could be catastrophic for GOP hopes in 2012.

"It would certainly help Barack Obama, and it would hurt the Republican nominee," she told host Chris Stirewalt on Friday's edition of the show.

She added, "It could be the difference in a very close race."

Earlier this week, Paul was a guest on "Special Report Online with Bret Baier," and when Baier pressed him on the issue, Paul would only offer, "I pledge that I have no intention of doing it."
