A key White House aide who has been with the president since his first day in office is leaving his administration.

Dana Singiser, Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs, will be joining Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) as its Vice President for Public Policy and Government Relations, the organization announced today. They said she will lead a department tasked with advancing their mission with national and state policymakers.

In her time at the White House, Singiser was part of the legislative team involved in passing President Obama's health care law. Prior to that, she worked on his presidential campaign and for a number of other Democratic leaders over the years, including then-Senator Hillary Clinton and President Bill Clinton.

PPFA President Cecile Richards called Singiser "a highly respected advocate."

The group said Singiser will begin her new job in early December.
