The Secret Service says there was a security breach Sunday night at the White House when a six-year old girl was just skinny enough to squeeze through the fence.

It happened on the North side of the White House, where a metal fence separates Pennsylvania Ave from the lawn and the residence.

She was immediately contacted by officers and returned to her parents on the other side, with no arrest or charges.

During the height of tourism in D.C., it's not uncommon to hear of security breaches when a passer-by accidentally leaves a backpack, but Sunday night's incident is a far more rare occurrence.

The breach was first reported by CBS News' Mark Knoller, who notes that his colleague Bill Plante was doing the "CBS Evening News" and as Knoller describes that Plante saw "the little girl scamper around the lawn as Secret Service moved in."
