New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie Planning Visit to Iowa

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is planning a trip to the presidential battleground of Iowa next week, as GOP heavy-hitters continue to press him to make a late-in-the-game play for the White House

But those urging him to run shouldn't get too excited. Christie ostensibly is visiting the leadoff caucus state to help GOP Rep. Steve King raise money for his re-election campaign and to attend a bipartisan education summit.

An invitation obtained by Fox News shows Christie will be the special guest at a Monday fundraiser in West Des Moines, with tickets ranging from $250 to $2,500 per person. King is facing an early challenge for his seat from ex-Iowa first lady Christie Vilsack.

Meanwhile, Christie met Tuesday in New York City with a host of Republican fundraisers who urged him to seek the nomination in 2012.

According to someone at the meeting, Christie did not jump up and say he was running. He indicated he appreciated what they had to say and noted his decision not to run is based on a number of factors, including his four children.
