Though it was originally scheduled to be in recess, the House of Representatives will stay in session during the week of July 18 as negotiations continue toward an agreement to raise the debt ceiling.

It is believed that this could help the House if there is need for action or negotiation on the debt limit as an August 2 deadline approaches.

In addition, they have moved up the plan to vote on a Constitutional Balanced Budget Amendment to the week of July 18. It was previously planned for the week of July 25.

Many conservatives are insisting that the House and Senate pass the Balanced Budget Amendment before they vote on the debt ceiling increase.
