Former Utah Republican Governor John Huntsman's campaign says the presidential candidate collected $4.1 million 2nd quarter fundraising, but nearly half the total came via donations made from his personal fortune.
Huntsman has said he won't be making any further personal expenditures and that the money was for start-up only.
While the $4.1 million is in the same range as totals racked up by former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, Huntsman raised it in just 10 days. He announced his candidacy just last week in New Jersey.
Paul is a prolific online fundraiser and Pawlenty had the benefit of being in the race the entire quarter and thus, has had more time to raise money.
