Huntsman Will Not Participate in New Hampshire Debate

Aides to Jon Huntsman, the former ambassador to China for the Obama administration, say he will not attend the upcoming debate in New Hampshire because he has yet to decide if he'll run.

Aides say the former Utah Governor has no plans to explore a White House bid in the coming weeks but will visit New Hampshire TWICE before the CNN/WMUR-TV/ New Hampshire Union Leader debate.

NH Huntsman staffer Paul Collins issued the following statement:

"Governor Huntsman will be spending the next few weeks continuing the due diligence process in line with the very short decision-making timetable he has laid out. He will not be participating in any debates until after that process is over and he formally announces his intentions. That announcement will not come before the June 13th debate. Should Governor Huntsman decide to run, voters in New Hampshire will have ample opportunity in the coming months to hear from someone who loves to discuss issues and debate competing viewpoints with voters as part of this great 'First in the Nation' American tradition."
