Air Force One Aborts Landing

Air Force One aborted its first landing attempt in Connecticut Wednesday morning and did a "go around" before the pilot set the plane down, White House spokesman Jay Carney, who was aboard the plane, confirmed.

The Federal Aviation Administration blamed bad weather conditions for the airplane missing its approach. FAA spokeswoman Laura Brown said President Obama's plane circled above Bradley International Airport and landed safely a few minutes later at 10:05. She noted this is not an unusual practice when weather conditions are poor. White House Spokesman Nick Shapiro confirmed the same details to reporters.

The pool reporter aboard the plane said no one on board noticed the "go around." Obama was on his way to deliver a commencement address to the Coast Guard Academy before attending two fundraisers in Boston on Wednesday evening.
