Michelle Obama Earth Day Event Cancelled For Bad Weather

The White House cancelled a Friday event at which Michelle Obama was set observe Earth Day. The event, which was to be held in a northwest Washington Park was called off after rain showers and cool temperatures moved into the D.C. area.

The first lady was scheduled to meet with school children and students from the White House Mentorship program and participate in a "habitat improvement project" at Fort Dupont Park. Obama was also slated to present certificates to kids who took part in her "Let's Move!" initiative.
