The wife of Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen fainted Wednesday while watching the welcoming ceremony outside the White House for Chinese President Hu Jintao.

According to Mullen's office, Deborah Mullen is feeling better and has recovered.

"Mrs. Mullen fainted this morning while attending the welcoming ceremony for President Hu," Mullen spokesman Capt. John Kirby said in a statement. "She was escorted indoors by Adm. Mullen and quickly recovered. She is doing just fine."

Mullen collapsed while President Obama and Hu were delivering their opening remarks. She was standing next to her husband and Defense Secretary Robert Gates at the time. Vice President Biden gave her a kiss before her husband escorted her inside.
