President Obama tonight called and spoke with Senator McConnell, R-KY, and current Speaker of House Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Hoyer, D-MD, and Rep. John Boehner, R-OH. In his phone calls with Rep. Boehner and Sen. McConnell, the President said he was "looking forward to working with him and the Republicans to find common ground, move the country forward and get things done for the American people," according to a White House release. In this official White House photo by Pete Souza, Obama speaks with current House Minority Leader John Boehner, who is widely expected to become majority leader. A senior Boehner aide told Fox News Senior House Producer Chad Pergram that they had a "brief but pleasant" conversation when the president called him close to midnight.
