In Ohio, FOX News projects that Republican Senate candidate Rob Portman will win decisively in his contest with Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher. Portman, a former congressman from the Cincinnati area and the budget director for President George W. Bush, dominated the contest to replace retiring Republican George Voinovich (VOY-na-VITCH).
The race for Ohio governor is too close to call -- Republican John Kasich (KAY-SICK) and Democratic incumbent Gov. Ted Strickland remain locked in one of the most hotly contested gubernatorial races in the nation. President Obama has made multiple visits to try to shore up the one-term Stickland against Kasich, a former Congressman from the Columbus area.
