State primary results indicate Republicans will have more success than Democrats mobilizing voters for the November elections. In Florida, Marco Rubio alone -- in beating two unknown challengers for the Republican nomination to the Senate -- collected more votes than all the Democratic Senate candidates combined. In Colorado, the losing Republican in the Senate primary garnered more votes than incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet, the winner of the Democratic primary. As a result, Dems are renewing their efforts to energize their base, from distorting Republican stances on issues like Social Security and Medicare to, as President George Bush's unpopularity recedes from memory, casting a new Republican villain: House Minority Leader John Boehner.
