President Obama will sign the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act today - the bill is also known as "financial reform" was passed by the Senate last week with a vote of 60 to 39. Three Republican senators (Brown of Massachusetts, Snowe and Collins of Maine) joined the Democrats. Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold was the lone democrat who voted against the measure.
The president will also get an update on the on-going oil spill in the gulf today in a closed meeting.
