President Obama travels to New York City Thursday, where he will deliver remarks at Cooper Union reminding Americans what’s at stake in the push to reform Wall Street and how the bill in the Senate draws on ideas from both sides of the aisle. The President will urge Wall Street to join him in the effort to reform the financial system -- not fight it -- and to lean on Washington to pass the tough Wall Street reform bill in front of the Senate that protects consumers, ends Too Big to Fail and brings transparency to the derivatives market. Fox News Channel, Fox Business Channel and this site will carry the 11:55am remarks live. [foxlivestream]
After flying back to Washington, the President will meet with Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed. In the evening, the President will deliver remarks at an Earth Day reception in the Rose Garden.
Vice President Biden will also be in New York City Thursday morning but he's event is a little less formal than Wall Street. At 11:00 AM, the Vice President will appear on The View.
Later, the Vice President will travel back to Washington, DC. At 5:30 PM, the Vice President will meet with Senator Harry Reid and Senator Mitch McConnell at the U.S. Capitol. This meeting is closed.
