Officials to Brief Obama on Mine Accident Next Week

President Obama has ordered federal mine safety officials to report back to him next week on their findings surrounding the tragic accident at Massey Energy's Upper Big Branch mine in Montcoal, West Virginia.

Monday's explosion was the worst mine disaster in decades. Dozens of workers were killed and many remain unaccounted for.

The President will meet with Labor Secretary Hilda Solis and Mine Safety and Health Administrator Joe Main next week to discuss measures that would improve safety and security measures and prevent future accidents.
