Today at 1pm Vice President Biden will deliver a speech on the future of the United States nuclear deterrent capabilities.  The VP’s office says he will lay out a plan to implement the president’s nonproliferation and nuclear security agenda.

He’s also expected to outline how the administration’s budget request and other efforts that will support President Obama’s vision of reducing the nuclear dangers as they are pursuing peace and a world without nuclear weapons.

The event will take place at the National Defense University in Washington, DC at 1pm today. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Secretary of Energy Steven Chu and Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General James Cartwright are also expected to attend.
