Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) is back in the hospital following gallbladder surgery.

This time, the powerful, 19-term Democrat is in intensive care at Virginia Hospital Center in suburban Washington.

 

The 77-year-old Murtha underwent surgery to remove his gallbladder last week and wound back there Tuesday after he suffered complications.

 

Murtha is the first Vietnam veteran to serve in Congress and chairs the House subcommittee that controls defense spending.
