President Obama Pushes Jobs In Cabinet Meeting

President Obama met with his Cabinet Monday to focus on jobs and the economy.  It was not all about the struggling economy though.  President Obama heard from his Secretaries of State and Defense on national security.   It was the President, himself, who told Cabinet members where things stood on the pending Senate health care legistlation.  He "reiterated the urgent need for us to get to the finish line and provide relief, both in terms of costs and the quality of coverage that Americans are getting in their health care."

The President praised embattled Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and the rest of his economic team but he also stressed the need to do more.   "I will not rest until businesses are investing again and businesses are hiring again and people have work again," President Obama said.

President Obama pushed his Cabinet for ideas for the December 3rd White House jobs summit.  The White House has invited business leaders, labor, entrepreneurs and others from all over the country to convene a summit to discuss jump-starting unemployment.
