0930 President and Vice President receive Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office

1000 President and Vice President receive Economic Daily Briefing in the Oval Office

1100 President Barack Obama, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, House Republican Leader John Boehner, and Members of Congress will hold a Congressional Gold Medal ceremony on Wednesday in honor of former Senator Edward William Brooke. Senator Brooke was the first African American to be elected by popular vote to the United States Senate, where he represented Massachusetts.

1430 President Obama will sign into law the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010. He will deliver brief remarks and will be joined by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Members of Congress, and others.

1730 President attends commemorative tree planting on the North Portico of the White House

1805 President Obama will host a reception to commemorate the enactment of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act. He will deliver brief remarks at 6:05 PM, and will be joined by Attorney General Eric Holder, civil rights community leaders and others.

Also of note: First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden will attend Game One of the 2009 World Series, which Major League Baseball is dedicating to America's veterans and their families.
