President Obama's Schedule

 10:45am The President meets with Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack (Oval Office)

1:30pm The President delivers remarks and awards the National Medal of Science and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation to the 2008 recipients (East Room)

3:30pm The President meets with his national security team on Afghanistan and Pakistan (Situation Room)

8:00pm The President and the First Lady host an event for local middle school students to star gaze and conduct hands-on experiments with astronomers (South Lawn)

The WH says this is to highlight the President's commitment to science, engineering and math education as the foundation of this nation's global technological and economic leadership and to express his support for astronomy in particular-for its capacity to promote a greater awareness of our place in the universe, expand human knowledge, and inspire the next generation by showing them the beauty and mysteries of the night sky.

Vice President Biden's Schedule

The Vice President starts his morning by hosting a breakfast meeting with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates at the Naval Observatory.

Later the Vice President travels to Atlantic City, New Jersey, to deliver remarks at the New Jersey AFL-CIO 2009 Legislative Conference and attend an event for New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine.

The Vice President returns to the White House in the afternoon to join the President's meeting with his national security team on Afghanistan and Pakistan in the Situation Room.

In the evening, the Vice President will attend an event for Representative Larry Kissell in Washington, DC.
