The White House confirmed tonight that President Obama will add a political stop for another embattled Northeastern Democrat to his previously confirmed appearance for Senator Chris Dodd on October 23rd. Prior to appearing in Connecticut for Senator Dodd, President Obama will headline a fundraising luncheon for Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. Patrick, the first African-American governor of the Bay State, shares a political advisor with President Obama in David Axelrod who currently serves in the White House as Senior Advisor to the President. Prior to guiding Obama’s successful bid for the presidency, Axelrod steered Patrick’s campaign to succeed Mitt Romney in the Massachusetts Statehouse.

During the 2008 campaign, some accused Obama of sharing more than just an advisor when then-Senator Obama delivered a speech that contained lines that the Clinton campaign said bordered on plagiarism.
