Most parents are familiar with the image of coming home from work to a child who is eagerly running at you with arms open. But things are a little different when you're the president.

President Obama arrived home to his backyard Thursday via helicopter. He was returning from an overnight trip out west and found his youngest daughter, Sasha, eagerly waving to her dad from the White House's famous Truman Balcony.

The president smiled and waved at his little girl, mouthing that dad had to do some work in his office-- the Oval Office-- and that he'd head to the residence afterwards.

It's not clear if Sasha misinterpreted the remarks as meaning she should visit him in the office because she then nodded and ran inside.

Michelle Obama has said before that her girls like to visit their dad in the Oval from time to time.
