Foxwire: Let the eggs roll....

It's a major springtime event in Washington, the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, and now it's rolling right into the internet age.

The White House announced today that for the first time the tickets for the roll will not be distributed in person, but instead will be available online.

In years past, parents and families have lined up at the Ellipse the weekend before the roll, many camping out in sleeping bags, and waiting for the coveted tickets. The White House says it’s breaking with that tradition in an attempt to get more families and children across the US an opportunity to attend the event.

This year’s theme is "Let's go Play" and is aimed at having youth learn about and lead healthy and active lives. It's a cause First Lady Michelle Obama has begun promoting in various forms, starting last week with the construction of a fruit and vegetable garden on the grounds of the White House.

The Easter Egg Roll will be on Monday, April 13 at 8am on the South Lawn of the White House.

Tickets will be available at www.whitehouse.gov/eastereggroll beginning on Thursday, March 26th.
