President Obama will hold his first prime-time news conference on Monday, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said.
Obama will take questions from reporters at the 8 p.m. ET event, Gibbs announced Thursday.
Obama has been on a media blitz in recent days to push for his economic stimulus package. On Thursday, he used a speech at the Energy Department to promote the plan. During his transition, Obama held several news conferences at daytime events.
