U.S. Vice President-elect Joe Biden has met with Iraqi president after arriving in Baghdad.
Biden arrived in Baghdad following his visit to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
There was no formal announcement of Biden's arrival Monday in the Iraqi capital.
However, news photographers were called to the office of Iraqi President Jalal Talabani for what turned out to be a meeting with the vice president-elect.
Biden is visiting the two fronts in the U.S.-led war on terror ahead of the Jan. 20 presidential inauguration.
President-elect Barack Obama has promised to end the war in Iraq and refocus U.S. military efforts on Afghanistan.
