The ex-chief of staff for Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in her text-messaging sex scandal case.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Christine Beatty will enter her plea Monday morning.
Details of the agreement have not been released. Her trial had been set to start on Jan. 5.
Beatty is charged with perjury, misconduct and obstruction of justice. She and Kilpatrick were accused of lying during a whistle-blowers' trial about being romantically involved.
They also denied their roles in the firing of a police official, but text messages between the two contradicted their statements.
Kilpatrick is serving a four-month jail sentence as part of a plea to two charges.
