they were letting them take unimportant files .Think of it what kinda goverment would have highly classified information on a new joint strike then proceed to tell the country how much they screwed up .Sorry no this i think is just a ploy to let them think that they are stealing files when it is probably a scam to catch any leaks or any double agents

I agree, however I believe the more troubling fact is the utter lack of coverage about this "catastrophic" event. Either FOX is overblowing it, or they scooped everyone else and the Pentagon shut down disclosure too soon for others to pick up on any details. If the latter, the damage may be so extreme that releasing any information would be tantamount to giving the hackers updates on where they were successful and where the hack failed to achieve penetration - thereby giving them their "what did we do wrong and where do we need to improve" information. If this was a test run, the last thing we want to do is publicize how effective this attempt was or where it left us vulnerable for simultaneous attacks by other means. Scary stuff.

Wow, are you serious with this article? Besides the fact that what they are describing happens ALL THE TIME in corporate America when there are poor security policies regarding worms or viruses and removable media, the idea that not allowing people to connect removable media to supposedly isolated defense networks is a NEW POLICY is stunning. To put that in perspective, when I worked in network security for an ADVERTISING FIRM, this was actually a policy that was being discussed and investigated for implementation with a couple of security vendors. It is not like we were dealing with classified defense department data. Basically this article is the equivalent of saying "Pentagon uses email just like you and me and they seem to also not do it very well".

This may be China preparing for the "big one". I think China is the most dangerous nation on earth while most American are asleep.
