Aug. 11: Sara Baysinger of La Salle, Colo., sits with her 2-year-old son, Lane, and Cash, the family's 3-year-old German shepherd, at home. Cash stood guard over the body of her owner, Jake Baysinger, for up to six weeks after the man committed suicide on the remote northeastern Colorado plains, authorities said. His body was found Sunday on the Pawnee National Grasslands about 75 miles northeast of Denver. Cash was found beside him, thin and dehydrated.
