  • April 7: A single-engine, four-seat Cessna airplane, allegedly stolen from Ontario, Canada, sits along Highway FF in Carter County, Missouri, on Tuesday. The plane landed a few miles west of Ellsinore, Mo., Monday afternoon, and the pilot was apprehended a short time later at a nearby service station.

  • April 7: This image from a video released by John Demjanjuk's family, shows Demjanjuk getting assistance on a bed in Seven Hill, Ohio. On Monday, A U.S. immigration judge in Virginia revoked Demjanjuk's stay of deportation to Germany. The suspected Nazi guard is seeking to remain in the U.S. because of poor health and submitted an appeal of the Judge's decision on Monday afternoon. He says being forced to travel to Germany would amount to torture.
  • April 7: Gay marriage advocate Beth Robinson, center, holds back tears following the passage of a gay marriage bill in Montpelier, Vt. on Tuesday. Vermont has officially become the fourth state to legalize gay marriage. The state legislature voted Tuesday to override Gov. Jim Douglas' veto of a bill allowing gays and lesbians to marry. The vote was 23-5 to override in the state Senate and 100-49 to override in the House. Under Vermont law, two-thirds of each chamber had to vote for override.   • April 7: The body of missing California girl, Sandra Cantu, was found late Monday afternoon in a suitcase. The police have not announced any suspects as of yet.
  • April 7: A baggage handler loads luggage onto a Southwest Airlines aircraft in St. Louis. Southwest Airlines Co. said Tuesday that it will set up shop at New York's LaGuardia Airport in June, the carrier's first entry into the major market.
  • April 5: Mike Gansler, Director of Core Technology with Segway Inc., drives a Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility, or PUMA, vehicle prototype in New York's Times Square on Sunday. Segway Inc. and General Motors Corp. announced Tuesday that they are working together to develop the two-wheeled, two-seat electric vehicle designed to be a fast, efficient, inexpensive and clean alternative to traditional cars and trucks in an urban environment.
  • April 7: Teresa Lourie, 3, of Boston, tries to climb on a duck statue, one of many duck statues representing Robert McCloskey's children's book, “Make Way for Ducklings," at the Public Garden in Boston. A bronze duckling named Pack was swiped from the beloved "Make Way for Ducklings" sculpture in Boston's Public Garden, a park ranger discovered the theft Monday. The duck was returned to the sculpture on Tuesday afternoon after being found abandoned on a local street corner.
  • April 7: An American crocodile emerges from the seagrass off Key West, Fla. The crocodile has a population of about 2,000 off the southern tip of Florida, the crocodile’s only native U.S. habitat. Residents of Southern Florida are nervous about their safety due to the large increase in this dangerous species.
